Thank a Cleaner Day 2020
Feature article on Springmount safe COVID cleaning

Australia has the world’s oldest oral stories. The First Peoples engraved the world’s first maps, made the earliest paintings of ceremony and invented unique technologies.

Our nation’s story did not begin with documented European contact. The very first footprints on this continent were those belonging to First Nations peoples.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists.

At Springmount Services we join all Australians to recognise and embrace the true history of this country – that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years and thousands of generations.

They were managing the land – the biggest estate on earth – to sustainably provide for the future.

As we explore, learn about, and appreciate the wealth and breadth of Indigenous Nations, languages, and knowledges of this continent, we recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. Always Was, Always Will Be.

We are grateful to the world’s oldest continuous living cultures for caring for this country.

We offer our respect, recognition, and thanks.

Thank you for keeping us safe!

2020 has been incredibly challenging for everyone with a stark reminder of how precious life is and of what is most important. The words “Health and Safety” are embedded in our work and personal lives. COVID-19 has brought an increased focus on two other words “Hygiene and Sanitisation”.

Yet, Hygiene and Sanitisation have always been the norm for over 1200 Springmount Services cleaners across Australia. To the public these people are nameless faces behind cleaning trollies, ghosts in the night who have sparkling office kitchens and bathrooms ready each morning, or machinery operators rugged-up pre-dawn keeping our floors, footpaths and carparks clean.

You might not know their names, but we do. “Thank a Cleaner Day” is the perfect opportunity to shout out their names, and show some of the smiling faces who are keeping us safe now, just as they always have.

On this “Thank a Cleaner Day” many of our Springmount Services sites will have celebratory morning teas, lunches or get-togethers which we will share throughout the day. If you see a cleaner today, please take the time to thank them. They deserve it!

We are proud that no Springmount Services cleaners come down with COVID-19 even though confirmed public cases had visited some of our sites. In all situations, our cleaners were professional and efficient in making their sites safe, and our client feedback was exceptional. We want to make a special mention of all the cleaners who continued to work on the front line during COVID-19 shut-downs and outbreaks, keeping our clients and the general public protected.

To our incredible Springmount Services team members – our heartfelt thank you for the hard work, loyalty and dedication you show every day.

Our Founder and Managing Director, Martin Stack, was interviewed this week by prominent investment publication “The Edge Singapore”.

He shared how our immediate realignment of commercial cleaning solutions offered surety under the threat of an invisible enemy named COVID-19.

Martin explained Springmount Service’s strategy of under new protocols, activating effective human and automated solutions at the onset of the pandemic.

This ensured that 100,000’s of people were able to shop safely at one of the world’s most iconic retail complexes, Marina Bay Sands Shoppes.

Using innovative cleaning solutions like robotic scrubbers and embracing technology, Springmount Services delivered the maximum level deep-cleaning services and management of high-risk areas.

This proved crucial in assuring the safety of our clients, their customers and our hard-working teams.
